Catherine Shorter was born circa 1682.3 She was the daughter of John Shorter and Elizabeth Philipps.1 She married Robert Walpole, 1st Earl of Orford, son of Robert Walpole and Mary Burwell, on 30 July 1700.1 She died on 20 August 1737.1
