     Magdalen Duff was born on 2 July 1752.1,2 She was the daughter of William Duff, 1st of Muirtown and Mary Baillie.1 She married, firstly, Alexander Duff of Davidson, son of John Duff and Mary Gordon, in 1771.3 She married, secondly, Rt. Rev. Andrew Macfarlane after 1778.4 She died on 22 November 1828 at age 76.1,2
     From after 1778, her married name became Macfarlane.4

     Rt. Rev. Andrew Macfarlane was born in 1743 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2 He married Magdalen Duff, daughter of William Duff, 1st of Muirtown and Mary Baillie, after 1778.1 He died on 26 July 1819 at Inverness, Inverness-shire, Scotland.2
     He held the office of Bishop of Moray and Ross between 1787 and 1796.1
