     William Duff was born in 1632.1 He was the son of Adam Duff and Beatrix Gordon.1 He married, firstly, Christian Duff, daughter of Alexander Duff and Christian Greenlaws, in 1655.1 He married, secondly, Jane Lockhart in 1666.1 He married, thirdly, Jean (?) after 1672.1 He died in 1715.1
     He held the office of Provost of Inverness in 1692.2

     Alexander Duff, 3rd of Drummuir was born in 1657.2 He was the son of William Duff and Christian Duff.2 He married Catharine Duff, daughter of Adam Duff, 2nd of Drummuir and Anne Abercromby, in 1684.2 He died on 22 August 1726.2
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Inverness [Scotland] between 1702 and 1707.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Inverness between 1708 and 1710.1 He held the office of Provost of Inverness.1 He had five other children.3

     Catharine Duff was the daughter of Adam Duff, 2nd of Drummuir and Anne Abercromby.1,2 She married Alexander Duff, 3rd of Drummuir, son of William Duff and Christian Duff, in 1684.3 She died in February 1758.3

     Anne Duff was born in 1684.1 She was the daughter of Alexander Duff, 3rd of Drummuir and Catharine Duff.1 She married Lachlan Mackintosh, 20th of Mackintosh, son of Lachlan Mackintosh, 19th of Mackintosh and Magdalene Lindsay.1 She died in 1750 at Muirtown, ScotlandG.1
     Her married name became Mackintosh.1
