Sir Arthur Forbes, 1st Bt.1 
In 1620 he settled in Ireland.2 He was granted land in Counties Leitrim and Longford, which he erected into the manor of Castle Forbes.3 He was created 1st Baronet Forbes, of Castle Forbes, Co. Longford, Ireland [Nova Scotia] on 29 September 1628, with a special remainder to heirs male whatsoever.1,3 He fought in the Thirty Years War.3 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Swedish Army, under King Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden.3
