     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.² He was Registrar of the Court of Faculties of the Archbishop of Canterbury between 1834 and 1877.² He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, in 1835 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Cambridge between 1839 and 1840, unseated for bribery.² He held the office of Under-Secretary of State for Home Department between 1841 and 1846.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Cambridge between 1841 and 1847.² He held the office of Lieutenant-Governor of New Brunswick between 1854 and 1861.² He held the office of Governor and Commander-in-Chief of Trinidad between 1864 and 1866.² He held the office of Governor and Commander-in-Chief of Victoria between 1866 and 1873.² He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) on 23 June 1866.² He succeeded as the 3rd Viscount Canterbury, of the City of Canterbury [U.K., 1835] on 13 November 1869.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Bottesford of Bottesford, co. Leicester [U.K., 1835] on 13 November 1869.¹ He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of St. Michael and St. George (G.C.M.G.) on 25 June 1873.²

     Hon. Charlotte Matilda Manners-Sutton was the daughter of Charles Manners-Sutton, 1st Viscount Canterbury and Lucy Maria Charlotte Denison.^1,2 She married Richard Sanderson on 12 February 1833.¹ She died on 14 May 1898.¹
     From 12 February 1833, her married name became Sanderson.¹

     Hon. Frances Diana Manners-Sutton was born on 17 December 1829.² She was the daughter of Charles Manners-Sutton, 1st Viscount Canterbury and Ellen Power.¹ She married Sir Delaval Loftus Astley, 18th Lord Hastings, son of Sir Jacob Astley, 16th Lord Hastings and Georgiana Caroline Dashwood, on 8 August 1848.¹ She died on 1 June 1874 at age 44.²
     Her married name became Astley.

     Sir Delaval Loftus Astley, 18th Lord Hastings was born on 24 March 1825.¹ He was the son of Sir Jacob Astley, 16th Lord Hastings and Georgiana Caroline Dashwood.¹ He married Hon. Frances Diana Manners-Sutton, daughter of Charles Manners-Sutton, 1st Viscount Canterbury and Ellen Power, on 8 August 1848.² He died on 28 September 1872 at age 47.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He was the Rector at Little Snoring, Norfolk, England^G.¹ He was the Vicar at East Barsham, Norfolk, England^G.¹ He succeeded as the 18th Lord Hastings [E., 1295] on 8 March 1871.¹ He succeeded as the 8th Baronet Astley, of Hill Morton, co. Warwick [E., 1660] on 8 March 1871.¹

     Richard Sanderson was born in 1784.¹ He married Hon. Charlotte Matilda Manners-Sutton, daughter of Charles Manners-Sutton, 1st Viscount Canterbury and Lucy Maria Charlotte Denison, on 12 February 1833.¹ He died on 29 October 1857.¹
     He was a merchant and banker at London, England^G.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Colchester between 1829 and 1830.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Colchester between 1832 and 1847.¹ He lived at Armthorpe, Yorkshire, England^G.¹

     Georgiana Tompson was the daughter of Charles Tompson and Juliana Kett.^1,2 She married John Henry Thomas Manners-Sutton, 3rd Viscount Canterbury, son of Charles Manners-Sutton, 1st Viscount Canterbury and Lucy Maria Charlotte Denison, on 5 July 1838 at Great Witchingham, Norfolk, England^G.² She died on 14 September 1899 at Seething Old Hall, Norfolk, England^G.² She was buried at Bergh Apton, Norfolk, England^G.²
     Her married name became Manners-Sutton. After her marriage, Georgiana Tompson was styled as Viscountess Canterbury on 13 November 1869.

     Henry Charles Manners-Sutton, 4th Viscount Canterbury was born on 12 July 1839.¹ He was the son of John Henry Thomas Manners-Sutton, 3rd Viscount Canterbury and Georgiana Tompson.¹ He married Amye Rachel Walpole, daughter of Commander Hon. Frederick Walpole and Laura Sophia Frances Walpole, on 16 April 1872 at St. George’s Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, England^G.² He died on 19 February 1914 at age 74 at Seething Hall, Norwich, Norfolk, England^G.³ He was buried on 23 February 1914 at Bergh Apton, Norfolk, England^G.³
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England^G.² He was educated at Magdalene College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G.² He succeeded as the 4th Viscount Canterbury, of the City of Canterbury [U.K., 1835] on 23 June 1877.¹ He succeeded as the 4th Baron Bottesford of Bottesford, co. Leicester [U.K., 1835] on 23 June 1877.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Norfolk.⁴ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Norfolk.⁴

     Hon. Graham Edward Henry Manners-Sutton was born on 7 February 1843.¹ He was the son of John Henry Thomas Manners-Sutton, 3rd Viscount Canterbury and Georgiana Tompson.¹ He married Charlotte Laura Astley, daughter of Lt.-Col. Francis L’Estrange Astley and Charlotte Micklethwait, on 12 February 1867.¹ He died on 30 May 1888 at age 45.¹
     He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Middlesex.²

     Hon. Robert Henry Manners-Sutton was born on 12 April 1854.¹ He was the son of John Henry Thomas Manners-Sutton, 3rd Viscount Canterbury and Georgiana Tompson.¹ He died on 26 February 1899 at age 44, unmarried.¹
     He was admitted to Inner temple in 1879 entitled to practise as a barrister.¹

     Anna Maria Georgiana Manners-Sutton was the daughter of John Henry Thomas Manners-Sutton, 3rd Viscount Canterbury and Georgiana Tompson.¹ She married Charles Edward Bright on 25 June 1868.¹ She died on 26 December 1924.¹
     Her married name became Bright.
