Lt.-Col. Sir Patrick Warrender of Lochend, 3rd Bt.1 
He gained the rank of officer in the Horse Guards.1 He fought in the Battle of Minden on 1 August 1759.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 11th Dragoons.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Haddington Burghs between 1768 and 1774.1 He held the office of King’s Remembrancer of the Court of Exchequer between 1771 and 1791.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Warrender, of Lochend, co. Haddington [G.B., 1715] on 18 January 1772.1

He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Warrender, of Lochend, co. Haddington [G.B., 1715] on 14 June 1799.1 He matriculated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 23 October 1799.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Haddington Burghs between 1807 and 1812.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1811 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Truro between 1812 and 1818.1 He held the office of Lord of the Admiralty between 1812 and 1822.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Sandwich between 1818 and 1826.1 He was a Commissioner of the Board of Control between 1822 and 1828.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) on 4 February 1822.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Westbury between 1826 and 1830.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Honton between 1830 and 1832.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Berwickshire Militia.1 He purchased the estate of Clifden, Buckinghamshire.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.)1
According to Cokayne, he was “an amateur musician of considerable celebrity, and took an active part in all matters concerned with the opera. He was also somewhat of a bon vivant, whereby he acquired the nickname of ‘Sir Gorge Provender.2‘ “
