     Margaret Taubman was born in 1750 at The Bowling Green, Castletown, Isle of Man^G.¹ She was the daughter of John Taubman and Esther Christian.¹ She married John Christian Curwen, son of John Christian and Jane Curwen, on 10 September 1775 at Kirk Maughold, Isle of Man^G.¹ She died on 1 February 1778 at Peel, Isle of Man^G.¹ She was buried in 1778 at Kirk Malew, Isle of Man^G.¹
     From 10 September 1775, her married name became Christian.²

     John Taubman married Esther Christian, daughter of Deemster Nicholas Christian.¹ He died circa 1799 at Castletown, Isle of Man^G.²
     He held the office of Member of the House of Keys (M.H.K.)¹ He held the office of Speaker of the House of Keys [Isle of Man] between 1780 and 1799.²

     Esther Christian was born at Ballastole, Ramsey, Isle of Man^G.¹ She was the daughter of Deemster Nicholas Christian.¹ She married John Taubman.¹ She died at The Bowling Green, Castletown, Isle of Man^G.¹
     Her married name became Taubman.¹

     Sir Arthur Bassett was born in 1541.² He was the son of John Basset and Frances Plantagenet.² He married Eleanor Chichester, daughter of Sir John Chichester and Gertrude Courtenay.¹ He died in 1586.²
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Barnstaple in 1563.² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Devon between 1569 and 1586.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Devon in 1572.² He was appointed Knight in 1575.² He held the office of Sheriff of Devon in 1574/75.² He held the office of Deputy Warden of the Stannaries in 1580.²

     Deemster John Christian was born on 12 July 1776 at The Bowling Green, Castletown, Isle of Man^G.¹ He was the son of John Christian Curwen and Margaret Taubman.¹ He married Susanna Allen, daughter of Lewis Robert Allen and Susanna Bell, on 23 April 1807.¹ He died on 27 February 1852 at age 75 at Milntown, Lezayre, Isle of Man^G.¹ He was buried on 5 March 1852 at Kirk Lezayre, Isle of Man^G.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.² He was educated at Edinburgh Academy, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.² He graduated from St. John’s College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, in 1798 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)² He was admitted to Lincoln’s Inn on 23 January 1798.¹ He graduated from St. John’s College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, in 1801 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)² He was registered as a Barrister-at-Law in 1803.¹ He held the office of Member of the House of Keys (M.H.K.)² He held the office of Deemster between 2 June 1822 and 1852.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Somerset.¹ From his marriage in 1807 until 1822 he lived at Ewanrigg Hall, Cumberland, and then, on his appointment as Deemster, moved to Fort Anne, Douglas, Isle of Man. In 1830, having had the ancient ancestral home, Milntown, restored, he moved to it with his family, the first Christian to have lived there for a century and a half.¹

     Isabella Curwen was born on 3 October 1765 at Workington Hall, Cumberland, England^G.¹ She was the daughter of Henry Curwen and Isabella Gale.¹ She married John Christian Curwen, son of John Christian and Jane Curwen, on 9 October 1782 in a Edinburgh, Scotland marriage.¹ She died on 18 April 1820 at age 54 at Workington Hall, Cumberland, England^G.¹ She was buried in April 1820 at Workington, Cumberland, England^G.¹
     From 9 October 1782, her married name became Christian.²

     Henry Curwen was born circa 1730 at Workington Hall, Cumberland, England^G.¹ He was the son of Eldred Curwen and Julian Clenmore.¹ He married Isabella Gale, daughter of William Gale.¹ He died in December 1778 at Workington Hall, Cumberland, England^G.¹
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Cumberland.²

     Henry Christian Curwen was born on 5 December 1783 at Ewanrigg Hall, Dearham, Cumberland, England^G.¹ He was the son of John Christian Curwen and Isabella Curwen.¹ He married Jane Stanley, daughter of Edward Stanley and Julia Christian, on 11 October 1804 at Gretna Green, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.¹ He died on 20 October 1860 at age 76 at Workington Hall, Cumberland, England^G.¹

     Isabella Christian Curwen was born on 11 November 1806 at Workington Hall, Cumberland, England^G.² She was the daughter of Henry Christian Curwen and Jane Stanley.^1,2 She married Reverend John Wordsworth, son of William Wordsworth and Mary Hutchinson, in October 1830.¹ She died on 1 September 1848 at age 41 at Villa PErri, Lucca, Italy^G.^2,1,3
     From October 1830, her married name became Wordsworth.¹

     Reverend John Wordsworth was born on 18 June 1803.¹ He was the son of William Wordsworth and Mary Hutchinson.¹ He married, secondly, Helen Ross, daughter of Donald Ross.¹ He married, firstly, Isabella Christian Curwen, daughter of Henry Christian Curwen and Jane Stanley, in October 1830.¹ He married, thirdly, Mariann Dolan, daughter of Luke Dolan, in 1856.¹ He died in 1875 at Moresby, Cumberland, England^G.²
