     Sir Henry Curwen was born circa 1581 at Workington Hall, Cumberland, England^G.^1,2 He was the son of Sir Nicholas Curwen and Anne Musgrave.^1,2 He married, secondly, Margaret Bouskell, daughter of Thomas Bouskell.² He married, firstly, Catherine Dalston, daughter of Sir John Dalston and unknown daughter Tyrrell, on 1 January 1601.² He died on 23 October 1623 at Workington Hall, Cumberland, England^G.^1,2
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cumberland in 1621.²

     Sir Patricius Curwen, 1st and last Bt. was born on 23 April 1602 at Workington Hall, Cumberland, England^G.^2,1 He was the son of Sir Henry Curwen and Catherine Dalston.^2,1 He married Isabella Selby, daughter of Sir George Selby and Margaret Selby, on 28 February 1620.¹ He died in 1664 at Workington Hall, Cumberland, England^G.²
     He was educated at Queens’ College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cumberland between 1625 and 1628.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Curwen [England] on 12 March 1627. He held the office of Sheriff of Cumberland in 1636/37.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cumberland between 1640 and 1643.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cumberland between 1661 and 1664.¹ On his death his baronetcy became extinct.

     Thomas Curwen was born at Workington Hall, Cumberland, England^G.¹ He is the son of Sir Henry Curwen.¹
     Thomas inherited the Workington Estate upon the death of his brother, Sir Patric, in 1664, and upon his death the estates devolved upon his half-brother, Thomas.
