     Hon. Ellen Strutt was born in 1860 at Kingston on Soar, Nottinghamshire, England.² She was the daughter of Edward Strutt, 1st Baron Belper and Amelia Harriet Otter.¹ She married George Murray Smith, son of George Murray Smith and Elizabeth Thomas Blakeway, on 22 October 1885 at Lougborough, Leicestershire, England.^1,2 She died on 31 December 1940.¹
     From 22 October 1885, her married name became Smith.¹
