     Sir Albert Abdullah David Sassoon, 1st Bt. was born on 25 July 1818 at Bagdad, Iraq.1 He was the son of David Sassoon and Hannah Joseph.1 He married Hannah Moses, daughter of Meyer Moses.1 He died on 24 October 1896 at age 78 at Brighton, Sussex, England.1
     He gained the title of 1st Baronet Sassoon. He was head of David Sassoon & Company in 1864.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Star of India (C.S.I.) in 1867.1 He held the office of Member of the Legislative Council (M.L.C.) [Bombay] between 1868 and 1872.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) in 1872.1
