Rt. Hon. Sir Ronald Hibbert Cross, 1st and last Bt.1 
Rt. Hon. Sir Ronald Hibbert Cross, 1st and last Bt. was born on 9 May 1896 at Pendleton, Lancashire, England.3 He was the son of James Carlton Cross and Marian Gertrude Hibbert.4,3 He married Louise Marion Green-Emmott, daughter of Walter Egerton John Green-Emmott and Kathleen Louise Vereker, on 7 January 1925 at St. Peter’s Church, Pimlico, London, England.5 He died on 3 June 1968 at age 72 at Westminster, London, England.3
He held the office of Minister of Economic Warfare between 1930 and 1940.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Rossendale in 1931.3 He held the office of Minister of Shipping between 1940 and 1941.3 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) on 7 June 1940.1 He held the office of High Commissioner to Australia in 1941.3 He was created 1st Baronet Cross, of Bolton-le-Moors, Lancaster [U.K.] on 15 August 1941. He held the office of Governor of Tasmania between 1951 and 1958.3 He was appointed Knight Commander, Royal Victorian Order (K.C.V.O.) in 1954.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in 1955.1
