He was a solicitor in 1894.1 He held the office of Deputy Sheriff of Hull between 1906 and 1908.1 He was appointed Knight in 1911.1 He was admitted to Middle Temple in 1914 entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Territorial Army Reserve.1 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)1 He was created 1st Baronet Aske, of Aughton, East Riding of Yorks [U.K.] on 21 January 1922.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Newcastle-upon-Tyne between 1923 and 1924.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Newcastle-upon-Tyne between 1929 and 1945.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Surrey.1 He graduated from London University, London, EnglandG, with a Doctor of Law (LL.D.)1 He was appointed King’s Counsel (K.C.) in 1934.1 He held the office of a Bencher in 1942.1
