Colonel William Borthwick of Johnstonburn1

He succeeded as the 11th Lord Borthwick [S., 1452] between 1687 and 1690, although he never claimed the title.1 He gained the rank of Captain in 1689 in the Cameronian Regiment.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the British Army.1 He lived at Soltray, ScotlandG.1 He lived at Johnstonburn, ScotlandG.1 He fought in the Battle of Ramilles on 23 May 1706 [O.S. 12 May 1706].1

William Borthwick of Pilmuir and Mayshiell1 
He was registered as a Member, Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (M.R.C.S.E.) on 15 November 1665.3 He was Deacon of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh between 1675 and 1677.3 He was Deacon of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh between 1681 and 1683.3 He gained the rank of Surgeon-Major in 1686 in the Forces of Scotland.2 He lived at Mayshiell, ScotlandG.2 He lived at Pilmuir, ScotlandG.1
