     Sir Walter Pringle, Lord Newhall was born circa 1664.3 He was the son of Sir Robert Pringle of Stichill, 1st Bt. and Margaret Hope.4 He married Helen Ayton.3 He married Katherine Johnston, daughter of unknown Johnston of Hilton, on 13 July 1701 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1,3 He died on 14 December 1736.3
     He held the office of Lord of Session.1 He was a practising Advocate.4 His male descendants failed in the 3rd generation.1 He lived at Lochton, ScotlandG.1 He was appointed Knight in 1718.5 He was styled as Lord Newhall [Scottish Law Lord] in 1718.4

     From 13 July 1701, her married name became Pringle.1
