     Patrick Gray, 6th Lord Gray was the son of Patrick Gray, 5th Lord Gray and Barbara Ruthven.1 He married by contract, firstly, Elizabeth Lyon, daughter of John Lyon, 8th Lord Glamis and Hon. Elizabeth Abernethy, on 18 May 1575.1 He married, secondly, Lady Mary Stewart, daughter of Robert Stewart, 1st Earl of Orkney and Lady Janet Kennedy, on 25 November 1585.1 He and Elizabeth Lyon were divorced on 21 May 1585.1 He died on 4 September 1611.1
     He held the office of Gentleman of the Bedchamber to King James VI in 1584.1 He held the office of Master of the Wardrobe to King James VI in 1584.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland] in 1585.1 In 1587 he was banished from the Scottish court, after having possibly schemed for the execution of Mary Queen of Scots while Ambassador to England.1 In 1589 he returned to the Scottish court and the King’s favour.1 He succeeded as the 6th Lord Gray [S., 1445] before 10 March 1607/8.1

     He lived at Easter Ogil, Tannadice and Pettanys, Angus, ScotlandG. On 20 June 1498 he vindicated his right to Easter Ogil after a dispute with his nephew, 4th Lord Glamis.1
