     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Fusiliers.¹ He fought in the Second World War.

     Virginia Emilie Bedford was the daughter of William J. Guthrie Bedford.¹ She married Lt.-Col. Sir Arthur D’Arcy Gordon Bannerman of Elsick, 12th Bt., son of Colonel Patrick Wilson Bannerman and Flora Lindsay Vanrenen, on 7 June 1889.¹ She died on 19 June 1915.¹
     From 7 June 1889, her married name became Bannerman.¹

     Philippa Baumgartner was the daughter of Edward Jocelyn Baumgartner.¹ She married, firstly, Lt.-Col. C. S. Vores before 1918.¹ She married, secondly, Lt.-Col. Sir Arthur D’Arcy Gordon Bannerman of Elsick, 12th Bt., son of Colonel Patrick Wilson Bannerman and Flora Lindsay Vanrenen, in November 1918.¹ She died on 3 January 1949.¹
