     Sir Donald Arthur Gordon Bannerman of Elsick, 13th Bt. was born on 2 July 1899.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. Sir Arthur D’Arcy Gordon Bannerman of Elsick, 12th Bt. and Virginia Emilie Bedford.¹ He married Barbara Charlotte Cameron, daughter of Lt.-Col. Alexander Cameron, on 27 July 1932.¹ He died on 16 September 1989 at age 90.¹
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England^G.¹ He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders.¹ He was Senior Control Officer, Control Commission for Germany between 1945 and 1948.¹ He was a housemaster between 1948 and 1952 at Gordonstoun School, Elgin, Morayshire, Scotland^G.¹ He was an assistant master between 1952 and 1969 at Fettes School, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹ He succeeded as the 13th Baronet Bannerman, of Elsick, co. Kincardine [N.S., 1682] on 27 April 1955.¹ He wrote the book Random Recollections.¹ He wrote the book A Short Family History.¹
