     Sir James Gardiner Baird of Saughtonhall, 7th Bt. was born on 20 August 1813.¹ He was the son of Captain William Baird and Lucy Dickson.¹ He married Henrietta Mary Wauchope, daughter of John Wauchope and Henrietta Warrender Cecilia Baird, on 13 March 1845 at Edmonstone, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹ He died on 6 January 1896 at age 82 at Wester Lea, Murrayfield, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹
     He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Baird, of Saughton Hall, co. Edinburgh [N.S., 1696] on 23 June 1830.¹ He gained the rank of Captain before 1842 in the 10th Light Dragoons.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Midlothian Coast Artillery.¹ He held the office of Volunteer Aide-de-Camp to HM Queen Victoria.¹ He held the office of Ensign General of the Royal Company of Archers.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)²

     Henrietta Mary Wauchope was the daughter of John Wauchope and Henrietta Warrender Cecilia Baird.¹ She married Sir James Gardiner Baird of Saughtonhall, 7th Bt., son of Captain William Baird and Lucy Dickson, on 13 March 1845 at Edmonstone, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹ She died on 3 November 1896 at Wester Lea, Murrayfield, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹
     From 13 March 1845, her married name became Baird.¹

     John Wauchope was the son of John Wauchope and Anne Margaret Erskine.² He married Henrietta Warrender Cecilia Baird, daughter of Lt.-Col. Sir James Gardiner Baird of Saughtonhall, 6th Bt., in 1815.³ He died in June 1837.³
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Edinburgh Militia.³ He lived at Edmonstone, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹ He also had two other daughters.³

     Henrietta Warrender Cecilia Baird was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Sir James Gardiner Baird of Saughtonhall, 6th Bt.¹ She married John Wauchope, son of John Wauchope and Anne Margaret Erskine, in 1815.² She died in 1826.²
     From 1815, her married name became Wauchope.¹

     Hon. Arabella Rose Evelyn Hozier was the daughter of William Wallace Hozier, 1st Baron Newlands and Frances Anne O’Hara.¹ She married Sir William James Gardiner Baird of Saughtonhall, 8th Bt., son of Sir James Gardiner Baird of Saughtonhall, 7th Bt. and Henrietta Mary Wauchope, on 3 April 1879.¹ She died on 18 June 1916.²
     From 3 April 1879, her married name became Baird.¹

     Frances Anne O’Hara was the daughter of John O’Hara and Arabella Blake.^1,2 She married William Wallace Hozier, 1st Baron Newlands, son of James Hozier and Catherine Margaret Feilden, in August 1849.^1,2 She died on 13 January 1891.²
     From August 1849, her married name became Hozier.¹

     John O’Hara married Arabella Blake, daughter of Sir John Blake, 11th Bt. and Rose Brice.²
     He lived at Raheen, Scotland^G.¹

     John FitzGerald, 4th Earl of Desmond was the son of Gerald fitz Maurice, 3rd Earl of Desmond and Lady Eleanor Butler.^1,2 He died on 4 March 1399/0.¹
     He gained the title of 4th Earl of Desmond.

     Sir James Andrew Gardiner Baird of Saughtonhall, 11th Bt. was born on 2 May 1946.¹ He was the son of Sir James Richard Gardiner Baird of Saughtonhall, 10th Bt. and Mabel Ann Gay Tempest Gill.¹ He married Jean Margaret Jardine, daughter of Brigadier Sir Ian Liddell Jardine, 4th Bt. and Priscilla Daphne Scott-Phillips, in 1984.¹ He and Jean Margaret Jardine were divorced in 1988.¹ He died on 18 February 2024 at age 77.²
     Sir James Andrew Gardiner Baird of Saughtonhall, 11th Bt. usually went by his middle name of Andrew.¹ He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He succeeded as the 11th Baronet Baird, of Saughton Hall, co. Edinburgh [N.S., 1696] on 13 March 1997.¹
