     Major Sir Alfred Hammond Aykroyd, 2nd Bt. was born on 3 June 1894.¹ He was the son of Sir William Henry Aykroyd, 1st Bt. and Emma Louisa Hammond.² He married Sylvia Walker, daughter of Frank Walker, on 12 November 1919.¹ He died on 29 April 1965 at age 70.¹
     He was educated at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Field Artillery.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Aykroyd, of Lightcliffe, co.      Alfred Aykroyd was born on 29 January 1841.¹ He was the son of William Aykroyd and Mary Constantine.¹ He married Ellen Milnes, daughter of Henry Milnes, on 4 June 1862.¹ He died on 18 April 1890 at age 49.¹
