     Alexander Campbell, 1st of Kilmartin was born circa 1650.2 He was the son of Dougall Campbell, 6th of Inverawe and Janet MacNeill.1 He married unknown daughter Campbell, daughter of Sir James Campbell, 9th of Ardkinglas and Isobel Campbell.2 He married Margaret Campbell, daughter of Archibald Campbell of Glen Carradale and Barbara Campbell, on 28 September 1677.2 He married Barbara Frank before 12 July 1693.2 He died in 1729.2
     He was the ancestor of the Campbells of Kilmartin.1
