     George Francis Lyon, 3rd of Kirkmichael was born on 6 September 1837.1 He was the son of John Stewart Lyon, 2nd of Kirkmichael and Mary Theresa Dickson.1 He married Emma Ramsay Stark, daughter of James Stark, in 1867.1 He died on 22 March 1881 at age 43.1
     He fought in the Crimean War.2 He retired from the military, with the rank of Commander, late of the Royal Navy.3,1

John Stewart Lyon, 2nd of Kirkmichael1

     John Stewart Lyon, 2nd of Kirkmichael was born on 1 December 1808.1 He was the son of George Lyon and Margaret Stewart.1 He married Mary Theresa Dickson, daughter of Thomas Dickson, in 1836.1 He died on 23 December 1862 at age 54.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 4th Dragoons.1 He purchased Kirkmichael from George Lyon, 1st of Kirkmichael at Kirkmichael, Dumfries-shire, ScotlandG.1

George Lyon1

     George Lyon was born on 20 February 1755.1 He was the son of Reverend George Lyon, 4th of Wester Ogil and Margaret Rodger.1 He married Margaret Stewart, daughter of Captain John Stewart of Stenton and Jean Husband, circa June 1800.1 He died on 8 September 1812 at age 57.1

Margaret Stewart1

     Margaret Stewart was born in 1770.2 She was the daughter of Captain John Stewart of Stenton and Jean Husband.1,2 She married, firstly, George Lyon, son of Reverend George Lyon, 4th of Wester Ogil and Margaret Rodger, circa June 1800.1 She married, secondly, Sir Adam Ferguson, son of Adam Fergusson and Catherine Burnett, in 1822.1 She died in 1857.2
     Her married name became Lyon. From 1822, her married name became Fergusson.1

Reverend George Lyon, 4th of Wester Ogil1

     Reverend George Lyon, 4th of Wester Ogil was born on 26 August 1711.2 He was the son of Reverend William Lyon, 3rd of Wester Ogil and Jean Melville.2 He married, firstly, Katherine Hodge, daughter of Reverend John Hodge of Bothkenna, circa August 1739.2 He married, secondly, Margaret Rodger, daughter of Hugh Rodger, on 14 June 1744.2 He died on 12 February 1793 at age 81.2
     He was educated at St. Andrews University, St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland.2 He was Minister in 1738 at Longforgan, Perthshire, Scotland.2 He lived at Ogil, Angus, ScotlandG.1

     Her married name became Lyon.
