     Hon. Catherine Cary was the daughter of Henry Cary, 1st Viscount of Falkland and Elizabeth Tanfield.¹ A contract for the marriage of Hon. Catherine Cary and James Home, 2nd Earl of Home was signed on 2 August 1622.¹ She died, without issue.¹
     Her married name became Home.

     Sir Arthur Bryce Duncan lived at Castlehill, Kirkmahoe, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.²

     Charles Alexander Douglas-Home, 12th Earl of Home was born on 11 April 1834 at The Hirsel, Coldstream, Berwickshire, Scotland^G.² He was the son of Cospatrick Alexander Home, 11th Earl of Home and Hon. Lucy Elizabeth Montagu-Scott.¹ He married Maria Grey, daughter of Captain Charles Conrad Grey and Caroline Nesbit Macan, on 18 August 1870.² He died on 30 April 1918 at age 84 at The Hirsel, Coldstream, Berwickshire, Scotland^G.²
     He was given the name of Charles Alexander Home at birth.² He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.² He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)² In 1877 his name was legally changed to Charles Alexander Douglas-Home.² He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Berwickshire between 1879 and 1890.² He succeeded as the 17th Lord Home [S., 1473] on 4 July 1881.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Douglas of Douglas, co. Lanark [U.K., 1875] on 4 July 1881.¹ He succeeded as the 12th Earl of Home [S., 1605] on 4 July 1881.¹ He succeeded as the 12th Lord Dunglas [S., 1605] on 4 July 1881.¹ He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM Queen Victoria between 1887 and 1897.² He held the office of Captain of the Royal Company of Archers.² He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in the 3rd and 4th Battalions, Scottish Rifles and Lanarkshire Yeomanry.² He was appointed Knight, Order of the Thistle (K.T.) in 1899.² He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)² He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Glasgow.² He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Berwickshire.²

     Maria Grey was born posthumously on 23 February 1849. She was the daughter of Captain Charles Conrad Grey and Caroline Nesbit Macan.^1,2 She married Charles Alexander Douglas-Home, 12th Earl of Home, son of Cospatrick Alexander Home, 11th Earl of Home and Hon. Lucy Elizabeth Montagu-Scott, on 18 August 1870.² She died on 25 May 1919 at age 70 at The Hirsel, Coldstream, Berwickshire, Scotland^G.²
     From 18 August 1870, her married name became Home. From 1877, her married name became Douglas-Home. After her marriage, Maria Grey was styled as Countess of Home on 4 July 1881.

     Lady Lillian Lambton was born on 8 December 1881.¹ She was the daughter of Frederick William Lambton, 4th Earl of Durham and Beatrix Bulteel.¹ She married Charles Cospatrick Archibald Douglas-Home, 13th Earl of Home, son of Charles Alexander Douglas-Home, 12th Earl of Home and Maria Grey, on 14 July 1902 at London, England^G.¹ She died on 26 September 1966 at age 84.¹
     Her married name became Douglas-Home. After her marriage, Lady Lillian Lambton was styled as Countess of Home on 30 April 1918.

     Elizabeth Hester Alington was born on 6 November 1909.² She was the daughter of Very Rev. Cyril Argentine Alington and Hon. Hester Margaret Lyttelton.¹ She married Alexander Frederick Douglas-Home, Baron Home of the Hirsel, son of Charles Cospatrick Archibald Douglas-Home, 13th Earl of Home and Lady Lillian Lambton, on 3 October 1936.¹ She died on 3 September 1990 at age 80.^1,2
     Elizabeth Hester Alington usually went by her middle name of Hester.² Her married name became Douglas-Home. After her marriage, Elizabeth Hester Alington was styled as Countess of Home on 11 July 1951. After her marriage, Elizabeth Hester Alington was styled as Baroness Home of the Hirsel on 19 December 1974.

     Agatha Halyburton was baptised on 1 June 1711 at Kettins, Perthshire, Scotland.² She was the daughter of James Halyburton of Pitcur.¹ She married James Douglas, 14th Earl of Morton, son of George Douglas, 13th Earl of Morton and Frances Adderly.¹ She died on 12 December 1748 at age 37 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.¹
     Her married name became Douglas. After her marriage, Agatha Halyburton was styled as Countess of Morton on 4 January 1738.

     Bridget Heathcote was born in 1723.² She was the daughter of Sir John Heathcote, 2nd Bt. and Bridget White.³ She married James Douglas, 14th Earl of Morton, son of George Douglas, 13th Earl of Morton and Frances Adderly, on 31 July 1755.¹ She died on 2 March 1805.³
     Her married name became Douglas.

     Sholto Charles Douglas, 15th Earl of Morton was born in 1731 at Aberdour, Fife, Scotland^G.¹ He was the son of James Douglas, 14th Earl of Morton and Agatha Halyburton.¹ He was baptised on 7 April 1731 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.² He married Catherine Hamilton, daughter of Hon. John Hamilton and Margaret Home, on 19 November 1758.³ He died on 25 September 1774 at Aberdour, Fife, Scotland.^1,2
     He succeeded as the 15th Earl of Morton [S., 1458] on 12 October 1768.¹

     Catherine Hamilton was the daughter of Hon. John Hamilton and Margaret Home.¹ She married Sholto Charles Douglas, 15th Earl of Morton, son of James Douglas, 14th Earl of Morton and Agatha Halyburton, on 19 November 1758.¹ She died on 25 April 1823.¹
     Her married name became Douglas. After her marriage, Catherine Hamilton was styled as Countess of Morton on 12 October 1768.
