Carmarthen [G.B., 1780] on 8 June 1911.1 He held the office of Asisstant Minister of Munitions between 1916 and 1918.2 On 26 December 1916 his name was legally changed to Walter FitzUryan Rhys by Royal Licence.2 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Carmarthenshire between 1928 and 1949.2
