     James Primrose, 2nd Earl of Rosebery was born circa 1690.¹ He was the son of Archibald Primrose, 1st Earl of Rosebery and Dorothea Cressy.¹ He married Mary Campbell, daughter of Hon. John Campbell and Elizabeth Elphinstone.¹ He died on 26 November 1755.¹
     He succeeded as the 2nd Lord Primrose and Dalmeny [S., 1700] on 20 October 1723.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Viscount of Rosebery [S., 1700] on 20 October 1723.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Viscount of Inverkeithing [S., 1703] on 20 October 1723.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Earl of Rosebery [S., 1703] on 20 October 1723.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Lord Dalmeny and Primrose [S., 1703] on 20 October 1723.¹ He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Primrose, of Carrington [N.S., 1631] on 8 May 1741.¹

     Mary Campbell was the daughter of Hon. John Campbell and Elizabeth Elphinstone.¹ She married James Primrose, 2nd Earl of Rosebery, son of Archibald Primrose, 1st Earl of Rosebery and Dorothea Cressy.¹ She died on 11 May 1756.¹
     Her married name became Primrose. After her marriage, Mary Campbell was styled as Countess of Rosebery on 20 October 1723.

     Lady Dorothea Primrose is the daughter of James Primrose, 2nd Earl of Rosebery and Mary Campbell.¹ She married Sir Adam Inglis, 3rd Bt., son of Sir John Inglis of Cramond, 2nd Bt. and Anne Cockburn.
     Her married name became Inglis.

     John Primrose, Lord Dalmeny was born in 1725.¹ He was the son of James Primrose, 2nd Earl of Rosebery and Mary Campbell.¹ He died on 11 August 1755, unmarried.¹
     He was styled as Lord Dalmeny.¹

     Lady Mary Primrose was born in 1777.² She was the daughter of Neil Primrose, 3rd Earl of Rosebery and Mary Vincent.¹ She married Henry John Shepherd, son of Rt. Hon. Sir Samuel Shepherd and Elizabeth White, on 11 April 1808.¹ She died on 7 January 1847.¹
     From 11 April 1808, her married name became Shepherd.¹

     Lady Dorothea Arabella Primrose was the daughter of Neil Primrose, 3rd Earl of Rosebery and Mary Vincent.¹ She married William Hervey on 1 September 1801.¹ She died on 16 November 1825.¹
     From 1 September 1801, her married name became Hervey.¹

     Hon. Francis Ward Primrose was born on 13 February 1785.¹ He was the son of Neil Primrose, 3rd Earl of Rosebery and Mary Vincent.¹ He married Percy Gore, daughter of Colonel Ralph Gore, on 10 November 1829.¹ He died on 26 May 1860 at age 75.¹
     He was a practising barrister.¹

     Lady Mary Anne Primrose was born on 23 April 1812.¹ She was the daughter of Archibald John Primrose, 4th Earl of Rosebery and Harriett Bouverie.² She died on 19 May 1826 at age 14.¹

     Everard Henry Primrose was born on 8 September 1848.¹ He was the son of Archibald John Primrose, Lord Dalmeny and Lady Catherine Lucy Wilhelmina Stanhope.¹ He died on 9 April 1885 at age 36, unmarried.¹
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the Grenadier Guards.¹ He was Military Attaché to Vienna.¹

     Lady Sybil Myra Caroline Primrose was born in 1879.² She was the daughter of Archibald Philip Primrose, 5th Earl of Rosebery and Hannah de Rothschild.³ She married General Sir Charles John Cecil Grant, son of Lt.-Gen Sir Robert Grant and Victoria Alexandrina Cotes, on 28 March 1903.¹ She died on 25 February 1955.¹
     From 28 March 1903, her married name became Grant.²
