Richard Walter John Montagu Douglas Scott, 10th Duke of Buccleuch was born on 14 February 1954.1 He is the son of Walter Francis John Montagu Douglas Scott, 9th Duke of Buccleuch and Jane McNeill.1 He married Lady Elizabeth Marion Frances Kerr, daughter of Peter Francis Walter Kerr, 12th Marquess of Lothian and Loris Antonella Thomasa Newland, on 31 October 1981.1

Lady Elizabeth Marion Frances Kerr was born on 8 June 1954.3 She was the daughter of Peter Francis Walter Kerr, 12th Marquess of Lothian and Loris Antonella Thomasa Newland.1,3 She married Richard Walter John Montagu Douglas Scott, 10th Duke of Buccleuch, son of Walter Francis John Montagu Douglas Scott, 9th Duke of Buccleuch and Jane McNeill, on 31 October 1981.1 She died on 30 April 2023 at age 68.4
From 31 October 1981, her married name became Montagu Douglas Scott. After her marriage, Lady Elizabeth Marion Frances Kerr was styled as Duchess of Buccleuch on 4 September 2007.
