     Sarah Marion Foottit was born on 3 January 1946.2 She was the daughter of Major Ian Desmond Foottit and Joy Margaret Courtis.3 She married, firstly, Oliver Langdale on 9 June 1973.2 She married, secondly, Lord William James Bingham Compton, son of William Bingham Compton, 6th Marquess of Northampton and Virginia Lucie Heaton, on 21 November 1996.1 She died on 27 March 2012 at age 66.2
     From 9 June 1973, her married name became Langdale.1 From 21 November 1996, her married name became Compton.1
