     Alexander Kirkpatrick was the son of Roger Kirkpatrick of Closeburn and Margaret Somerville.² He died on 9 June 1486.¹
     In 1484 he was granted the lands and territorial Barony of Kirkmichael, Dumfriesshire, as reward for the capture of 9th Earl of Douglas at Burnswark.¹

     Joan Iris Dawson married William Louis McKenzie, son of Stanley John McKenzie and Eva Lorna Baigent, on 27 September 1951.¹
     From 27 September 1951, her married name became McKenzie.¹

     David McKenzie was born on 20 August 1958.¹ He is the son of William Louis McKenzie and Joan Iris Dawson.¹

     Sir John de Maxwell was the son of Sir John de Maxwell.¹ He died after April 1373.¹
     Before April 1354 he held Carlaverock on behalf of the Scots.²

     Maria Maxwell is the daughter of Herbert Maxwell, 1st Lord Maxwell.² She married Sir Thomas Kirkpatrick of Closeburn, son of Roger Kirkpatrick of Closeburn and Margaret Somerville.¹
     Her married name became Kirkpatrick.

     Ellen Courtauld was born in 1865 at Surrey, England.¹ She was the daughter of Lewis Courtauld and Elizabeth Robinson.¹ She died on 13 April 1903 at Guildford, Surrey, England.²

     Margaret Sinclair is the daughter of unknown Sinclair of Rosslyn.² She married Sir Thomas Kirkpatrick of Closeburn, son of Sir Thomas Kirkpatrick of Closeburn and Maria Maxwell.¹
     Her married name became Kirkpatrick.

     Thomas Kirkpatrick is the son of Sir Thomas Kirkpatrick of Closeburn and Margaret Sinclair.² He married Janet Grierson, daughter of Roger Grierson and Agnes Douglas.¹
     He lived at Closeburn, Scotland.¹ He fought in the Battle of Solway Moss between March 1541/42 and September 1542, where he was captured by the English.¹

     William Macdowall was baptised on 27 April 1819 at St. Cuthberts, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.¹ He was the son of William Macdowall and Louisa Helen Dunbar.¹
