James Herwald Ramsbotham, 2nd Viscount Soulbury was born on 21 March 1915.1 He was the son of Herwald Ramsbotham, 1st Viscount Soulbury and Doris Violet de Stein.1,3 He married Anthea Margaret Wilton, daughter of David Wilton, on 5 April 1949.1 He died on 12 December 2004 at age 89.2
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Viscount Soulbury, of Soulbury, co. Buckingham [U.K., 1954] on 30 January 1971.3 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Soulbury, of Soulbury, co. Buckingham [U.K., 1941] on 30 January 1971.3
