     Alexander Innes, 1st of Coxton was born in 1532.1 He was the son of Patrick Innes and Christian Cockburn.2 He married, firstly, Janet Reid.1 He married, secondly, Catherine Gordon, daughter of George Gordon, 2nd of Cairnborrow and Katharine Gordon.1 He died on 5 October 1612.1
     On 9 March 1571/72 he had a charter for Coxton, Morayshire.1
