Peter Edward Ramsbotham, 3rd Viscount Soulbury1 
Peter Edward Ramsbotham, 3rd Viscount Soulbury was born on 8 October 1919.3 He was the son of Herwald Ramsbotham, 1st Viscount Soulbury and Doris Violet de Stein.4 He married, firstly, Frances Marie Massie Blomfield, daughter of Hugh Massie Blomfield, on 30 August 1941.3 He married, secondly, Dr. Zaida Mary Megrah, daughter of Maurice Henry Megrah, in 1985.3 He died on 9 April 2010 at age 90 at New Alresford, Hampshire, England.3
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.4 He was educated at Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.4 He fought in the Second World War between 1943 and 1945.4 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel between 1943 and 1945 in the Intelligence Corps.4 He was awarded the Croix de Guerre in 1945.4 He was with the Control Commission for Germany and Austria between 1947 and 1950.4 He was with the Foreign Office in 1950.4 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1964.5 He held the office of High Commissioner to Cyprus between 1969 and 1971.5 He held the office of Ambassador to Iran between 1971 and 1974.5 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in 1972.5 He held the office of Ambassador to the U.S.A. between 1974 and 1977.5 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Royal Victorian Order (G.C.V.O.) in 1976.4 He was appointed Knight of Justice Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (K.J.St.J.) in 1976.4 He was appointed Knight, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (K.St.J.)3 He held the office of Governor of Bermuda between 1977 and 1980.5 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of St. Michael and St. George (G.C.M.G.) in 1978.4 He was director of Lloyds Bank between 1981 and 1990.4 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Hampshire in 1992.4 He succeeded as the 3rd Viscount Soulbury, of Soulbury, co. Buckingham [U.K., 1954] on 12 December 2004. He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Soulbury, of Soulbury, co. Buckingham [U.K., 1941] on 12 December 2004.
