     Mary Louisa Twiss was born in 1882 at Lingfield, Surrey, England.¹ She was the daughter of Vice-Admiral Guy Ouchterlony Twiss and Margaret Louisa Williams.¹ She married Douglas Wellwood Clarke, son of Stephenson Clarke and Agnes Maria Bridger, on 2 June 1905 at All Saints Church, Lindfield, Sussex, England.¹
     From 2 June 1905, her married name became Clarke.¹

     Caroline Grace Margaret Clarke was born in 1911 at Weobley, Herefordshire, England.¹ She was the daughter of Dr. John Stephenson Clarke and Grace Annie Hiddingh.¹ She died in 2002 at Grahamstown, Cape Province, South Africa.¹

     Robert Clarke was born in 1782.¹ He married Maria Elizabeth Nunn on 3 August 1815 at Tooting, London, England.¹ He died on 17 August 1849 at The Rookery, Lower Tooting, London, England.¹

     Maria Elizabeth Nunn was born in 1790 at Upper Tooting, Surrey, England.¹ She married Robert Clarke on 3 August 1815 at Tooting, London, England.¹ She died on 11 June 1870 at The Rookery, Lower Tooting, Surrey, England.¹
     From 3 August 1815, her married name became Clarke.¹

     Lt.-Cdr. Guy Douglas Clarke was born in 1909 at Haywards Heath, Sussex, England.¹ He was the son of Douglas Wellwood Clarke and Mary Louisa Twiss.¹ He died on 1 March 1942, killed in action aboard H.M.A.S. Pertth during the Battle of Sunda Strait.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the Royal Navy.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹

     Lt.-Col. Andrew Board Stephenson Clarke was born on 11 September 1906 at Haywards Heath, Sussex, England.¹ He was the son of Douglas Wellwood Clarke and Mary Louisa Twiss.¹ He married Betty Knox in 1938.¹ He died on 23 August 1943 at age 36 at Sicily, Italy, killed in action.¹
     He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, England.¹ He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹

     Betty Knox was born circa 1913.² She married, firstly, Lt.-Col. Andrew Board Stephenson Clarke, son of Douglas Wellwood Clarke and Mary Louisa Twiss, in 1938.¹ She married, secondly, Paul Reginald Grotrian, son of Major Harold Hunter Grotrian and Phyllis Catherine Durrant, on 5 January 1961.³ She died on 8 July 2008.²
     From 1938, her married name became Clarke.¹ From 5 January 1961, her married name became Grotrian.³

     Vice-Admiral Guy Ouchterlony Twiss was born on 19 October 1834 at Mauritius.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Gen. John Twiss and Louisa Bridget Ouchterlony.¹ He married Margaret Louisa Williams in 1880.¹ He died on 7 October 1918 at age 83 at The Cliff, Shanklin, Isle of Wight, England.¹
     He gained the rank of Vice-Admiral in 1897.¹

     Margaret Louisa Williams was born in 1857 at France.¹ She married Vice-Admiral Guy Ouchterlony Twiss, son of Lt.-Gen. John Twiss and Louisa Bridget Ouchterlony, in 1880.¹ She died in 1936 at Lindfield, Sussex, England.¹
     From 1880, her married name became Twiss.¹
