     Mary Grove was the daughter of Thomas Grove and Henrietta Farquharson.2,3 She married Admiral Cospatrick Baillie-Hamilton, son of Venerable Charles Baillie and Lady Charlotte Home, on 10 April 1849.2 She died on 17 November 1897.1
     From 10 April 1849, her married name became Baillie-Hamilton.2

     From 18 July 1872, her married name became Hamilton-Spencer-Smith.

     Reverend Spencer Compton Hamilton-Spencer-Smith was born on 22 June 1842.2 He is the son of Spencer Smith and Frances Anne Seymour.2 He married Mary Baillie-Hamilton, daughter of Admiral Cospatrick Baillie-Hamilton and Mary Grove, on 18 July 1872.2 He died on 11 May 1911 at age 68.2
     He was given the name of Spencer Compton Smith at birth.2 He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)2 He was Vicar at Kingston, Dorset, England.2 In 1872 his name was legally changed to Spencer Compton Hamilton-Spencer-Smith by Royal Licence.2

     Lt.-Col. Charles Hamilton was born on 3 October 1727.1 He was the son of Charles Hamilton, Lord Binning and Rachel Baillie.1 He died on 28 September 1806 at age 78, unmarried.1
     He held the office of Governor of Blackness Castle between 1792 and 1806.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 1st Dragoon Guards.1
