     Emma Philippa Grove was the daughter of John Grove and Jean Helen Fraser.² She died on 1 March 1925, unmarried.¹

     Thomas Grove was born in 1759.¹ He was the son of John Grove and Philippa Long.^1,3 He married Charlotte Pilfold, daughter of Charles Pilfold, in February 1781.¹ He died on 22 April 1847.¹
     He lived at Ferne, Wiltshire, England^G.¹ He also had three daughters.¹

     Charlotte Pilfold was the daughter of Charles Pilfold.² She married Thomas Grove, son of John Grove and Philippa Long, in February 1781.¹ She died on 12 April 1828.¹
     From February 1781, her married name became Grove.

     Charles Pilfold lived at Effingham, Surrey, England^G.¹

     John Grove was born in 1696.¹ He was the son of Thomas Grove and Elizabeth Hooke.² He married, firstly, Eleanor Hanham, daughter of Sir William Hanham, 3rd Bt. and Mary Norris, circa 1751.¹ He married, secondly, Philippa Long, daughter of Walter Long, in 1755.¹ He died in 1769.¹
     He lived at Ferne, Wiltshire, England^G.¹ He also had one other daughter by his second wife.¹

     Henrietta Farquharson was the daughter of James Farquharson.² She married Thomas Grove, son of Thomas Grove and Charlotte Pilfold, on 1 January 1807.¹ She died on 15 February 1821, without issue.¹
     From 1807, her married name became Grove.³

     James Farquharson lived at Langton, Dorset, England^G.¹

     William Henry Edward Napier was born on 29 September 1830 at Quebec, Canada^G.² He was the son of Lt.-Col. Duncan Campbell Napier and Catherine Charlotte Wurtele.² He married Annie Walker Robertson, daughter of Captain James Robertson and Barbara Shand, in 1870.² He died on 2 August 1894 at age 63 at 73 george Street, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.²
     He was with the Canadian Government Exploring Commission in 1857.² He was one of original engineers of the Canadian Grand Trunk Railway.¹ He lived in 1870 at England.²

     Katherine Annie Napier was the daughter of William Henry Edward Napier and Annie Walker Robertson.^2,3 She married James Brodrick Chinnery-Haldane, 24th of Gleneagles, son of Rt. Rev. James Robert Alexander Chinnery-Haldane and Anne Elizabeth Frances Margaretta Chinnery, on 23 April 1902.¹ She died on 26 April 1957.¹
     From 23 April 1902, her married name became Chinnery-Haldane.¹

     Alexander Napier Chinnery-Haldane, 25th of Gleneagles was born on 17 June 1907 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.^1,2 He was the son of James Brodrick Chinnery-Haldane, 24th of Gleneagles and Katherine Annie Napier.³ He died on 7 April 1994 at age 86 at Auchterarder, Perthshire, Scotland.^1,2
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England^G.¹ He was educated at Wadham College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Scots.¹ He was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Court on 14 December 1984.¹ He was succeeded by his kinsman James Martin Haldane of Gleneagles yr, having earlier nominated him as Tanistair of the House of Gleneagles by a Deed dated 14 Jan 1985.¹
