     Elizabeth Freke was born in 1659 at Bandon, County Cork, Ireland.² She was the daughter of John Freke and Mary Bernard.² She married Joseph Jervois, son of Captain Samuel Jervois and Lattis Wescombe, in 1680.¹
     From 1680, her married name became Jervois.¹

     Peter Cussen married Ellen Jervois, daughter of Samuel Jervois, in 1808.¹

     John Owen is the son of Colonel Henry Owen.² He married unknown daughter Townsend, daughter of Colonel Richard Townsend and Mary Hyde.¹

     Elizabeth Becher was born at Aughadown, Skibbereen, County Cork, Ireland^G.¹ She was the daughter of Henry Becher and Catherine Owen.¹ She married Richard Townsend, son of Commander Bryan Townsend and Mary Synge, in 1724. She died after 1743 at Castle Townsend, County Cork, Ireland^G.
     From 1724, her married name became Townsend.

     Richard Townsend was born on 15 July 1684.² He was the son of Commander Bryan Townsend and Mary Synge.^1,3 He married Mary Synge, daughter of Very Rev. Samuel Synge and Mary Boyle, after 23 March 1707/8.³ He married, secondly, Elizabeth Becher, daughter of Henry Becher and Catherine Owen, in 1724. He died in November 1742 at age 58.² His will was proven (by probate) on 11 November 1742.⁴
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) in 1715.⁴ He held the office of High Sheriff of County Cork in 1726.^3,4 He lived at Castle Townsend, County Cork, Ireland^G.³

     Mary Synge was the daughter of Very Rev. Samuel Synge and Mary Boyle.^2,3 She married Richard Townsend, son of Commander Bryan Townsend and Mary Synge, after 23 March 1707/8.³ She died before 1707, from smallpox.¹
     From 1705, her married name became Townsend.¹

     Commander Bryan Townsend was born circa 1648.² He was the son of Colonel Richard Townsend and Mary Hyde.³ He and Mary Synge obtained a marriage license on 13 May 1682.^1,2 He died in 1726.⁴
     He gained the rank of Commander in the Royal Navy, H.M.S. Swiftsure.¹ He purchased Derry in 1686.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Clonakilty in 1695.¹ He lived at Londonderry, County Londonderry, Ireland^G.¹ He lived at Castle Townsend, County Cork, Ireland^G.¹
