     William Townsend was born on 20 April 1699.¹ He was the son of Commander Bryan Townsend and Mary Synge.² He died, unmarried.¹

     Roger Adamson was born in 1744. He was the son of Adam Adamson and Margaret Johnson. He married Martha Dean on 1 February 1769. He died on 22 May 1822, drowned in the Irish Sea.

     Martha Dean married Roger Adamson, son of Adam Adamson and Margaret Johnson, on 1 February 1769.
     From 1 February 1769, her married name became Adamson.
