Arthur Shirley Benn, 1st and last Baron Glenravel1 
Arthur Shirley Benn, 1st and last Baron Glenravel was born on 20 December 1858.1 He was the son of Reverend John Watkins Benn and Maria Louisa Hamilton.1,3 He married Alys Maria Luling, daughter of F. A. Luling, on 9 May 1888.4 He died on 13 June 1937 at age 78, without issue.1
He was educated at Clifton College, Clifton, Bristol, EnglandG.1 He emigrated to CanadaG.1 He gained the rank of in the Canadian Garrison Artillery.1 He was British Vice Consul to Mobile, Alabama.1 He emigrated to England arriving on 1902.1 He was managing director of Hunter Benn and Company, Merchants and Timber Shippers.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Plymouth between 1910 and 1918.4 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.) in 1918.4 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Plymouth, Drake Division between 1918 and 1929.4 He was created 1st Baronet Benn [U.K.] on 26 July 1926.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Sheffield, Park Division between 1931 and 1935.4 He was created 1st Baron Glenravel, of Kensington, co. London [U.K.] on 1 February 1936.1 On his death, his titles became extinct.4
