He was given the name of Thomas Glen Coats at birth.1 His name was legally changed to Thomas Glen Glen-Coats.1 He was created 1st Baronet Glen-Coats [U.K.] on 25 June 1894.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for West Renfrewshire between 1906 and 1910.1
