He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He graduated from Pembroke College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1954 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)2 He was Aide-de-Camp to the Governor-General of Canada between 1954 and 1955.2 He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the King’s Royal Rifle Corps.2 He was director of Aristoc Ltd in 1966.2 He was director of Contour Hosiery Ltd in 1968.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) in 1979.3 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)1
