Henry Radcliffe, 2nd Earl of Sussex1 
In 1527 in the suite of Wolsey on the latter’s Embassy to France.4 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Bath (K.B.) in 1533.4 He succeeded as the 2nd Viscount FitzWalter [E., 1525] on 27 November 1542.4 He succeeded as the 11th Lord FitzWalter [E., 1295] on 27 November 1542.4 He succeeded as the 2nd Earl of Sussex [E., 1529] on 27 November 1542.4 In 1544 he campaigned in France.4 He held the office of Joint Lord-Lieutenant of Norfolk between 1551 and 1553.4 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1553.4 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) in 1554.4 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Norfolk and Suffolk between February 1556 and 1556/57.4

Thomas Radcliffe, 3rd Earl of Sussex was born circa 1525.3 He was the son of Henry Radcliffe, 2nd Earl of Sussex and Lady Elizabeth Howard.1,4 He married, firstly, Lady Elizabeth Wriothesley, daughter of Thomas Wriothesley, 1st Earl of Southampton, before 1 November 1545.3 He married, secondly, Frances Sidney, daughter of Sir William Sydney and Anne Pakenham, before 29 April 1555.3 He died on 9 June 1583, without issue.3
He fought in the Siege of Boulogne.3 He was appointed Knight on 30 September 1544.3 He fought in the Battle of Pinkie on 10 September 1547.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Norfolk in 1553.3 He was Captain of the Gentlemen Pensioners between 1553 and 1583.3 In 1554 he was sent as Commissioner to Spain to arrange the marriage of Queen Mary and King Philip II.3 He held the office of Lord Deputy of Ireland between 1556 and 1560.3 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) in 1557.3 He succeeded as the 3rd Earl of Sussex [E., 1529] on 17 February 1556/57.3 He succeeded as the 12th Lord FitzWalter [E., 1295] on 17 February 1556/57.3 He succeeded as the 3rd Viscount FitzWalter [E., 1525] on 17 February 1556/57.3 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland between 1560 and 1565.3 He held the office of Lord-President of the Council of the North between 1568 and 1572.3 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1570.3 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of the North in 1569/70.3 He held the office of Lord Chamberlain between 1572 and 1583.3
