Thomas Howard, 2nd Duke of Norfolk1 
Thomas Howard, 2nd Duke of Norfolk was born in 1443/44 at Stoke-by-Nayland, Suffolk, EnglandG.3 He was the son of John Howard, 1st Duke of Norfolk and Catherine de Moleyns.4,3 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Tylney, daughter of Sir Frederick Tylney and Elizabeth Cheney, on 30 April 1472.5 He married, secondly, Agnes Tylney, daughter of Hugh Tylney, on 8 November 1497.3 He died on 21 May 1524 at Framlingham Castle, Framlingham, Suffolk, EnglandG. He was buried on 26 June 1524 at Thetford Abbey, Norfolk, EnglandG.
He was educated at Ipswich Grammar School, Ipswich, Suffolk, EnglandG.3 He was educated at Thetford Grammar School, Thetford, Norfolk, EnglandG.3 Circa 1466 a yeoman in King Edward IV’s household.3 He fought in the Battle of Barnet on 14 April 1471.3 He held the office of Sheriff of Norfolk and Suffolk in 1476.3 He held the office of Esquire of the Body to King Edward IV.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Norfolk in 1478.3 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Bath (K.B.) in January 1477/78.3 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) between 1483 and 1485.3 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) between 1483 and 1485.3 He held the office of Steward of the Household from 1483 to 1484.3 He was created 1st Earl of Surrey [England] on 28 June 1483.4,3 He held the office of Warden of the East and Middle Marches.3 In 1485 he was attainted by King Henry VII.3 In 1489 his attainder was reversed for the Earldom only.3 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) in 1491.3 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1501.3 He held the office of Lord High Treasurer between 1501 and 1522.3 He held the office of Earl Marshal of England on 10 July 1510, for life.3 He fought in the Battle of Flodden on 9 September 1513.3 He was Lieutenant-General of the forces in the North on 9 September 1513.3 He resigned as as Earl of Surrey in favour of his son on 1 February 1513/14.3 He succeeded as the 2nd Duke of Norfolk [E., 1483] on 1 February 1513/14, which was created for him with precedence of any previous Dukedoms of Norfolk, effectively a restoration of his father’s attainted title.3

Elizabeth Tylney1 
Elizabeth Tylney was born in 1447. She was the daughter of Sir Frederick Tylney and Elizabeth Cheney.1 She married, firstly, Sir Humphrey Bourchier, son of John Bourchier, 1st Lord Berners and Marjorie Berners.1 She married, secondly, Thomas Howard, 2nd Duke of Norfolk, son of John Howard, 1st Duke of Norfolk and Catherine de Moleyns, on 30 April 1472.1 She died on 4 April 1497.
Her married name became Bourchier.1 She was also known as Elizabeth Tilney. From 30 April 1472, her married name became Howard.1 After her marriage, Elizabeth Tylney was styled as Duchess of Norfolk.3
