He succeeded as the 3rd Viscount Lisburne, co. Antrim [I., 1695] on 15 January 1740/41.4 He succeeded as the 3rd Lord Vaughan, Baron of Fethard, co. Tipperary [I., 1695] on 15 January 1740/41.4 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Cardiganshire between 1744 and 1769.4

John Vaughan, 1st Viscount Lisburne1 
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Cardiganshire between 1694 and 1698.2 He was created 1st Lord Vaughan, Baron of Fethard, co. Tipperary [Ireland] on 5 June 1695.2 He was created 1st Viscount Lisburne, co. Antrim [Ireland] on 5 June 1695.2 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Cardiganshire in 1714.2

Lady Malet Wilmot1 
Lady Malet Wilmot was baptised on 6 January 1675/76 at Adderbury, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 She was the daughter of John Wilmot, 2nd Earl of Rochester and Elizabeth Malet.1,3 She married John Vaughan, 1st Viscount Lisburne, son of Edward Vaughan and Letitia Hooker, on 18 August 1692 at St. Gile’s-in-the-Fields Church, London, EnglandG.1 She died on 13 January 1708/9 at age 33.1
From 18 August 1692, her married name became Vaughan.1

Elizabeth Malet was born in 1651. She was the daughter of John Malet and Unton Hawley.1,3 She married John Wilmot, 2nd Earl of Rochester, son of Henry Wilmot, 1st Earl of Rochester and Anne St. John, on 29 January 1666/67.4 She died on 20 August 1681. She was buried on 20 August 1681.5
From 29 January 1666/67, her married name became Wilmot.1
