     John Lindsay, 3rd Lord Lindsay of the Byres was the son of John Lindsay, 1st Lord Lindsay of the Byres and Agnes Stewart.2 He married Marion Baillie, daughter of Sir William Baillie of Lamington.3 He died after 26 October 1498, without male issue.2
     John Lindsay, 3rd Lord Lindsay of the Byres also went by the nick-name of ‘John out-with-the-sword’.2 He succeeded as the 3rd Lord Lindsay of the Byres [S., 1444] in 1490.1

Marion Baillie1

     Marion Baillie is the daughter of Sir William Baillie of Lamington.1 She married, secondly, Sir Robert Douglas of Lochleven, son of Sir Henry Douglas of Lochleven and Elizabeth Erskine, between 1500 and 1503.2 She married, firstly, John Lindsay, 3rd Lord Lindsay of the Byres, son of John Lindsay, 1st Lord Lindsay of the Byres and Agnes Stewart.1
     From between 1500 and 1503, her married name became Douglas.2 Her married name became Lindsay.1 She was also known as Mariot.2

     Sir James Stewart of Beath was born before 1513.1 He was the son of Andrew Stewart, 1st Lord Avandale and Margaret Kennedy.1,2 He married Margaret Lindsay, daughter of John Lindsay, 3rd Lord Lindsay of the Byres and Marion Baillie, before 4 June 1533.1 He died on 2 June 1544 at Dunblance, ScotlandG, killed.1
     He was Commendator of St. Colme’s Inch.3 He held the office of Captain and Constable of Doune Castle in 1528.3 He held the office of Gentleman of the Bedchamber to King James V.3 He held the office of Steward of Menteith before 1538.3 He lived at Beath, ScotlandG.4

Andrew Stewart, 1st Lord Avandale1

     Andrew Stewart, 1st Lord Avandale was born between January 1470 and 1488/89.1 He was the son of Alexander Stewart. He married Margaret Kennedy, daughter of John Kennedy, 2nd Lord Kennedy and Lady Elizabeth Gordon, before 4 February 1499/0.2 He died on 9 September 1513 at Flodden Field, Northumberland, EnglandG, killed in action.1
     He was created 1st Lord Avandale [Scotland] on 4 February 1499/0.3 He held the office of First Usher of the King’s Chamber between 1502 and 1509.4 He held the office of Lord Auditor in 1512.4 He fought in the Battle of Flodden on 9 September 1513.

     Margaret Kennedy was born before 1485.2 She was the daughter of John Kennedy, 2nd Lord Kennedy and Lady Elizabeth Gordon.2,3 She married Patrick Vaux of Barnbarroch, son of Blaise Vaux of Barnbarroch and Elizabeth Shaw.4 She married Andrew Stewart, 1st Lord Avandale, son of Alexander Stewart, before 4 February 1499/0.2 She died in 1542.2
     Her married name became Vaux.4 From before February 1500, her married name became Stewart.

John Kennedy, 2nd Lord Kennedy1

     John Kennedy, 2nd Lord Kennedy was born before 12 October 1454.2 He was the son of Gilbert Kennedy of Dunure, 1st Lord Kennedy and Catherine Maxwell.2 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Montgomerie, daughter of Alexander Montgomerie, 1st Lord Montgomerie and Margaret Boyd, before 25 March 1460.2 He married, secondly, Lady Elizabeth Gordon, daughter of Alexander Gordon, 1st Earl of Huntly and Elizabeth Crichton, between 24 August 1467 and 12 August 1471.2 He married, thirdly, Elizabeth Kennedy after 1500.2 He died between 24 July 1508 and 13 May 1509.2
     He succeeded as the 2nd Lord Kennedy [S., 1458] circa 1480.2 He was a Commissioner to treat with the English in 1484.2 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland] to King James III.2

     John Stewart, 4th Lord Innermeath was born before 1521.1 He was the son of Richard Stewart, 3rd Lord Innermeath and Margaret Lindsay.1 He married Elizabeth Bethune, daughter of Sir John Bethune, 2nd of Creich and Janet Hay, between January 1537 and 1540.1 He died in January 1569/70.1
     He succeeded as the 4th Lord Innermeath [S., 1469] in 1532.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Forfarshire in 1541.1 He held the office of Extraordinary Lord of Session [Scotland] between 1541 and 1544.1

Elizabeth Bethune1

     Elizabeth Bethune was the daughter of Sir John Bethune, 2nd of Creich and Janet Hay.1,2 She married, firstly, John Stewart, 4th Lord Innermeath, son of Richard Stewart, 3rd Lord Innermeath and Margaret Lindsay, between January 1537 and 1540.1 She married, secondly, James Gray, son of Patrick Gray, 4th Lord Gray and Marion Ogilvy, in June 1573.1 She and James Gray were divorced on 10 June 1581 on the grounds of James’ adultery with Elizabeth’s niece, Isabel Bethune.1
     She was also known as Elizabeth Beaton.3 From between 1537 and 1540, her married name became Stewart. On 9 March 1566 she was present at the murder of Rizzio, along with Queen Mary.4 From June 1573, her married name became Gray.1
