He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the North-West Frontier in 1930.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He was Irish Grand Bailiff, Order of St. Lazarus.1 He retired from the military in 1947, with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel, late of the Indian Cavalry (The Guides.)1 He succeeded as the 18th Lord Dunsany [I., c. 1462] on 25 October 1957.1
