George Kemp, 1st Baron Rochdale 
George Kemp, 1st Baron Rochdale was born on 9 June 1866.2 He was the son of George Tawke Kemp and Emily Lydia Kelsall.2 He married Lady Beatrice Mary Egerton, daughter of Francis Charles Granville Egerton, 3rd Earl of Ellesmere and Lady Katherine Louisa Phipps, on 5 August 1896.2 He died on 24 March 1945 at age 78.2
He was educated at Shrewsbury School, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England.2 He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.2 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal Unionist) for Heywood between 1895 and 1906.2 He fought in the Boer War between 1900 and 1902.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1902 in the 32nd Battalion, Imperial Yeomanry.2 He was appointed Knight in 1909.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)
