     Admiral Sir Charles Elliot was born on 15 August 1801 at Dresden, Germany.^2,3 He was the son of Rt. Hon. Hugh Elliot and Margaret Jones.² He married Clara Genevieve Windsor, daughter of Robert Harley Windsor, in 1828.² He died on 9 September 1875 at age 74.²
     He was commissioned in 1815 with the rank of officer, in the service of the Royal Navy.³ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1822.³ He gained the rank of Captain in 1828.³ He held the office of Governor of Bermuda between 1846 and 1854.³ He held the office of Governor of Trinidad between 1854 and 1856.³ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) in 1856.¹ He held the office of Governor of St. Helena between 1863 and 1870.²

     Edward Southwell Russell, 24th Lord de Clifford was born on 5 April 1855 at 3 Carlton House Terrace, London, England^G.¹ He was the son of Edward Southwell Russell, 23rd Lord de Clifford and Harriet Agnes Elliot.¹ He married Hilda Balfour, daughter of Charles Balfour, on 16 April 1879 at Easthampstead, Berkshire, England^G.² He died on 6 April 1894 at age 39 at San Remo, Italy^G, from consumption.^2,3 He was buried at Cancade Cemetery, Nice, France^G.²
     He was educated between 1869 and 1872 at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.³ He succeeded as the 24th Lord de Clifford [E., 1299] on 6 August 1877.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Leicestershire.⁴

     Hon. Charles Somerset Russell was born on 10 September 1857.¹ He was the son of Edward Southwell Russell, 23rd Lord de Clifford and Harriet Agnes Elliot.¹ He died in 1886, unmarried.¹

     Hon. Maud Clara Russell was born in 1853. She was the daughter of Edward Southwell Russell, 23rd Lord de Clifford and Harriet Agnes Elliot.¹ She died on 13 April 1947, unmarried.¹

     Hon. Katherine Russell was born in 1861. She was the daughter of Edward Southwell Russell, 23rd Lord de Clifford and Harriet Agnes Elliot.¹ She married Major Reginald Corbet, son of Henry Reginald Corbet and Anna Mary Elizabeth Grey-Egerton, on 23 April 1891.¹ She died on 6 March 1950.¹
     Her married name became Corbet. She was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1918.¹ She was appointed Dame of Grace, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (D.G.St.J.)¹

     Major Reginald Corbet was born on 9 October 1857.² He was the son of Henry Reginald Corbet and Anna Mary Elizabeth Grey-Egerton.² He married Hon. Katherine Russell, daughter of Edward Southwell Russell, 23rd Lord de Clifford and Harriet Agnes Elliot, on 23 April 1891.¹ He died on 9 December 1945 at age 88.¹
     He gained the rank of Major in the Shropshire Volunteer Regiment.² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Shropshire.² He lived at Adderley, Market Drayton, Shropshire, England^G.¹ He lived at Adderley Hall, Shropshire, England.²

     Sybil Corbet is the daughter of Major Reginald Corbet and Hon. Katherine Russell.¹ She married Lt.-Col. Edmond Waller Browne, son of Lt.-Col. William Adolphus Browne, on 21 February 1922.¹
     Her married name became Browne.

     Lt.-Col. William Adolphus Browne lived at Barriehurst, Craleigh, Surrey, England^G.¹

     Hilda Balfour was the daughter of Charles Balfour.¹ She married Edward Southwell Russell, 24th Lord de Clifford, son of Edward Southwell Russell, 23rd Lord de Clifford and Harriet Agnes Elliot, on 16 April 1879 at Easthampstead, Berkshire, England^G.¹ She died on 7 February 1895 at London, England^G.¹
     Her married name became Russell.
