     He was appointed King’s Counsel (K.C.)¹ He held the office of Judge of the County Court.¹

     Charles Symonds Leaf was born on 13 November 1895 at London, England.¹ He married Hon. Catherine Blanche Kay-Shuttleworth, daughter of Ughtred James Kay-Shuttleworth, 1st Baron Shuttleworth and Blanche Marion Parish, on 22 August 1917.² He died on 19 February 1947 at age 51 at Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, England.¹
     He was appointed Fellow, Society of Antiquaries (F.S.A.)² He graduated with a Doctor of Letters (D.Litt.)² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)² He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Marines.² He gained the rank of Acting Captain in the East Kent Regiment.¹

     Anne Elizabeth Phillips is the daughter of Colonel Geoffrey Francis Phillips and Pamela Frances Ada Ridley.¹ She married Charles Ughtred John Kay-Shuttleworth, 4th Baron Shuttleworth, son of Hon. Edward James Kay-Shuttleworth and Sibell Eleanor Maud Adeane, on 5 November 1947.² She died in 1991.²
     Her married name became Kay-Shuttleworth.

     Colonel Geoffrey Francis Phillips was born on 3 May 1880 at Kensington, London, England^G.² He was the son of J. Hawtin Phillips.¹ He married Pamela Frances Ada Ridley, daughter of Arthur William Ridley and Adriana Elizabeth Newton, on 6 April 1920 at Nairobi, Kenya^G.² He died on 18 January 1968 at age 87.¹
     He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)² He gained the rank of Colonel in the Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry.³ He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.)²

     Charles Geoffrey Nicholas Kay-Shuttleworth, 5th Baron Shuttleworth was born on 2 August 1948.¹ He is the son of Charles Ughtred John Kay-Shuttleworth, 4th Baron Shuttleworth and Anne Elizabeth Phillips.² He married Ann Mary Whatman, daughter of Major James Dunbar Whatman, on 25 October 1975.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Baron Shuttleworth, of Gawthorpe, County Palatine of Lancaster [U.K., 1902] on 5 October 1975.² He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Kay-Shuttleworth [U.K., 1849] on 5 October 1975.² He was a partner of Burton, Barnes and Vigers, chartered surveyors between 1977 and 1996.¹ He was appointed Fellow, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (F.R.I.C.S.) in 1983.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Lancashire between 1986 and 1997.¹ He was director and deputy chairman of Abbey National plc in 1996.¹ He was appointed Knight, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (K.St.J.) in 1996.¹ He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Lancashire in 1997.¹ He lived in 2003 at Leck Hall, Carnforth, Lancashire, England.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Royal Victorian Order (K.C.V.O.) in 2011.¹ He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) in 2016.¹

     Ann Mary Whatman is the daughter of Major James Dunbar Whatman.² She married, firstly, Daniel Henry Barclay.¹ She married, secondly, Charles Geoffrey Nicholas Kay-Shuttleworth, 5th Baron Shuttleworth, son of Charles Ughtred John Kay-Shuttleworth, 4th Baron Shuttleworth and Anne Elizabeth Phillips, on 25 October 1975.¹
     Her married name became Barclay.¹ From 25 October 1975, her married name became Kay-Shuttleworth. After her marriage, Ann Mary Whatman was styled as Baroness Shuttleworth on 25 October 1975. She held the office of High Sheriff of Lancashire in 1999.¹

     Hon. Robert James Kay-Shuttleworth was born on 27 May 1954. He is the son of Charles Ughtred John Kay-Shuttleworth, 4th Baron Shuttleworth and Anne Elizabeth Phillips.¹ He married Claire Pridham, daughter of Michael James Pridham, on 18 August 1995.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1974 in the Coldstream Guards.¹ He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.¹

     Hon. Edward Roger Noël Kay-Shuttleworth was born on 28 June 1962.¹ He is the son of Charles Ughtred John Kay-Shuttleworth, 4th Baron Shuttleworth and Anne Elizabeth Phillips.¹ He married Noemi Cortez, daughter of Delfin Cortez, on 5 June 1996.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹

     Hon. Sarah Rachel Jane Kay-Shuttleworth was born on 18 July 1950.¹ She is the daughter of Charles Ughtred John Kay-Shuttleworth, 4th Baron Shuttleworth and Anne Elizabeth Phillips.¹ She married, firstly, Richard Francis Foster, son of William Robert Brudenell Foster, on 31 October 1970.¹ She married, secondly, Peter Figgins in 1988.¹ She and Richard Francis Foster were divorced in 1984.¹
     Hon. Sarah Rachel Jane Kay-Shuttleworth also went by the nick-name of Sally.¹ From 31 October 1970, her married name became Foster. From 1988, her married name became Figgins.

     Richard Francis Foster was born in 1945. He is the son of William Robert Brudenell Foster.¹ He married Hon. Sarah Rachel Jane Kay-Shuttleworth, daughter of Charles Ughtred John Kay-Shuttleworth, 4th Baron Shuttleworth and Anne Elizabeth Phillips, on 31 October 1970.² He and Hon. Sarah Rachel Jane Kay-Shuttleworth were divorced in 1984.²
