     Colonel Alan Coulston Gardner was born illegitimately on 19 November 1842.¹ He was the son of Alan Legge Gardner, 3rd Baron Gardner and Julia Sarah Hayfield Fortescue.^2,3 He married Hon. Nora Beatrice Blyth, daughter of James Blyth, 1st Baron Blyth and Eliza Mooney, on 29 April 1885.⁴ He died on 25 December 1907 at age 65.
     He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)⁴ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)⁴ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)⁵ He gained the rank of office in the 14th King’s Hussars.¹ He gained the rank of office in the 11th Hussars.¹ He fought in the Anglo-Zulu Wars in 1879.¹ He lived at Clearwell Castle, Coleford, Gloucestershire, England^G.⁴

     Hon. Nora Beatrice Blyth was born in 1866. She was the daughter of James Blyth, 1st Baron Blyth and Eliza Mooney.¹ She married Colonel Alan Coulston Gardner, son of Alan Legge Gardner, 3rd Baron Gardner and Julia Sarah Hayfield Fortescue, on 29 April 1885.¹ She died on 5 January 1944.¹
     Her married name became Gardner.

     James Blyth, 1st Baron Blyth was born on 10 September 1841.¹ He was the son of James Blyth and Caroline Gilbey.¹ He was baptised at Chelmsford, Essex, England^G.¹ He married Eliza Mooney, daughter of William Mooney, on 29 August 1865 at St. Mary’s, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G.¹ He died on 8 February 1925 at age 83 at 33 Portland Place, London, England^G.¹ He was buried on 11 February 1925 at Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire, England^G.¹
     He was a director of W. & A. Gilbey & Company Ltd.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Essex.² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Hertfordshire.² He was created 1st Baronet Blyth [U.K.] on 30 August 1895.¹ He was appointed Grand Cross, Civil Order of the Merito Agricola Portuguese.¹ He was appointed Order of the Medjidie.¹ He was appointed Order of Leopold of Belgium.¹ He was created 1st Baron Blyth, of Blythswood, Stansted-Mountfitchet, Essex [U.K.] on 19 July 1907.¹

     Eliza Mooney was the daughter of William Mooney.¹ She married James Blyth, 1st Baron Blyth, son of James Blyth and Caroline Gilbey, on 29 August 1865 at St. Mary’s, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G.¹ She died on 12 December 1894.¹ She was buried at Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire, England^G.¹
     Her married name became Blyth.

     William Mooney lived at Clontarf, County Dublin, Ireland^G.¹

     Alexandra Mary Hilda Seely was born on 16 September 1938.¹ She is the daughter of Sir Victor Basil John Seely, 4th Bt. and Mary Frances Margaret Collins.¹ She married, firstly, Henry Charles Seymour, son of Lt.-Col. Sir Reginald Henry Seymour and Lady Katharine Hamilton, on 21 November 1966.¹ She married, secondly, Michael Patrick Radcliffe Boyle, son of Lt.-Cdr. Patrick Spencer Boyle and Vera Maude Radcliffe Agnew Radcliffe, in 1995.²
     From 21 November 1966, her married name became Seymour.¹ From 1995, her married name became Boyle.²

     Victoria Seely was born on 6 September 1933.² She is the daughter of Sir Victor Basil John Seely, 4th Bt. and Hon. Patience Kemp.¹ She married Francis Arthur Michael Bray, son of Francis Evelyn Bray, on 23 July 1954.²
     Her married name became Bray. She lived in 1999 at Bridgewater, Spy Lane, Loxwood, Sussex, England^G.¹

     Catherine Jean Kilby Hewlett is the daughter of Colonel G. H. K. Hewlett.¹ She married Sir Thomas Peter Neil Erskine of Cambo, 6th Bt., son of Sir Thomas David Erskine of Cambo, 5th Bt. and Ann Fraser Tytler, in 1972.¹
     From 1972, her married name became Erskine.¹
