     He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)3 He gained the rank of officer in the Gordon Highlanders.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the 4th Royal Green Jackets.1 He was registered as a member of the British Computer Society.1

     Maria Grathwohl was born on 1 February 1837 at Weikersheim, GermanyG.1 She was the daughter of Georg Andreas Grathwohl and Friederike Meyer.1 She married Carl Ludwig Wilhelm Leopold Prinz zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg, son of Ernst Christian Carl IV Fürst zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg and Anna Feodorovna Auguste Charlotte Wilhelmine Prinzessin zu Leiningen, on 22 February 1861 at Paris, FranceG, in a morganatic marriage.1 She died on 19 May 1901 at age 64 at Salzburg, AustriaG.1
     She was created Freifrau von Bronn by the King of Württemburg on 4 March 1890.1
