Admiral Sir George Montagu was born on 12 December 1750.1 He was the son of Admiral John Montagu and Sophia Wroughton.3 He married Charlotte Wroughton, daughter of George Wroughton, on 9 October 1783.1 He died on 24 December 1829 at age 79.1
He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.)4 He gained the rank of Admiral of the Red in the Royal Navy.1
