William Hood Walrond, 1st Baron Waleran1 
William Hood Walrond, 1st Baron Waleran was born on 26 February 1849.1 He was the son of Sir John Walrond Walrond, 1st Bt. and Hon. Frances Caroline Hood.1 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Katharine Pitman, daughter of James Samuel Pitman and Elizabeth Cole, on 11 April 1871.1 He married, secondly, Helena Margaret Morrison, daughter of F. Morrison, on 28 October 1913.1 He died on 17 May 1925 at age 76.1
He gained the rank of Captain in the Grenadier Guards.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for East Devon between 1880 and 1885.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Devon, North-East Division between 1885 and 1905.3 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Walrond, of Bradfield, Devon [U.K., 1876] on 23 April 1889.1 He held the office of Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster between 1902 and 1905.3 He was created 1st Baron Waleran, of Uffculme, co. Devon [U.K.] on 23 December 1905.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)3
